COSTUME NATIONAL SS16 MILAN – INSIDE THE BACKSTAGE

On Thursday, September 24th, Ennio Capasa presented his Costume National SS16 collection in Milan. The collection explores the possibilities of tailoring with a strong, masculine edge. Mostly black and white with touches or bright red, the pieces show a balance between precisely cut pantsuits and more fluid, short dresses. Sheer tops make an appearance paired with high-waisted shorts or asymmetrical skirts. If Costume National is known for its edgy, tailored look, this season showed a more feminine yet always strong sensibility. Show standout: a silver sleeveless minidress with black ribbons flowing from an intarsia on the site of its top part. The Costume National girl is definitely strong, and, this season, she is not afraid to show her body: she either lets her skin breathe in a subversive way with her see-through blouses, or she will show you her gracious, long legs. Backstage, Crash photographer Tassili Calatroni witnesses the preparation of the shows, the magic moments when the girls – and men – get ready and become the Costume National character. From hair & makeup, to the collection inspirations, to the first looks, don’t miss a bit of the beauty in the making.
