DISCOVER THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LATEST ISSEY MIYAKE MENSWEAR COLLECTION
For this Fall-Winter 2017/2018 menswear collection, Issey Miyake invited us to discover the Galerie de la Minéralogie, located near the beautiful Jardin des Plantes, on a freezing morning: a verdant and peaceful setting outside, and a pure, sober atmosphere inside. The show starts and we quickly discover a gang of self-confident men who clearly know what they want and where they are going. They carefully manicure their hair and wear grey tuxedos with retro sunglasses. Voluminous capes and robes are also part of their winter wardrobes, because this season the Issey Miyake man is chic and sober but not boring at all.
As seen on the runway, the dominant colors are black, grey, and blue, but we also noticed touches of orange, yellow, and khaki to boost next winter’s closet. To cap things off, let’s focus on one of the unexpected patterns that caught our eye: textured pop patterns created by experienced artisans using ten types of printing plates, each hand printed with different dyes and glossy prints. Inspired by white birch forests, this textured pop pattern, declined on coats, pants, and blazer jackets, reveals a profusion of colors such as yellow, blue, and red. A fantastic way to enjoy winter.
