This season, the duo in charge of Wooyoungmi has redesigned men’s classics and suiting by using new materials and effects in their Fall-Winter 2017/18 menswear collection. The men’s wardrobes receive modern and trendy cuts, with new fabrics like colored velvet, flounces on shirts, oversized designs, check and tartan wools and joggers. Without discarding the most luxurious or classic pieces, fashion trends have lately attempted to break up the overly chic look of men’s silhouettes through relaxed cuts that are innovative and modern. We clearly want men to stop settling for black and grey clothes, as fashion houses opt for pop colors and modern materials. Beyond jersey and wool, Wooyoungmi also introduces shiny fabrics on its red vinyl jacket and other pieces. Handbags see their monopoly challenged by bags worn by a strap or on the shoulder.
The fashion industry is trying to add a woman’s touch to men’s wardrobes, while keeping everything as distinguished as possible. The future of men’s fashion will boldly experiment with items that were until now reserved only for women. This diversification has already brought original pieces like varnished shoes in colored leather or velvet. Sporting a very British style, the collection is full of prints, colors, and cuts that are perfect for the chic, modern, and relaxed man.
