CHANEL CRUISE 2019: LA PAUSA
By Crash redaction
Yesterday, Karl Lagerfeld embarked us on a journey for the Chanel 2019 cruise fashion show which took place at the Grand Palais. Set around a huge replica of the La Pausa boat, the collection was an invitation to travel in the most grandiose way.
Little know that Gabrielle Chanel was in fact the first designer to host a cruise show in 1919, an occasion to present more flowy, light and comfortable pieces made to travel and get lost by the sea, a lake or crowded streets of a foreign city. As a marker between two opposite seasons, the cruise collection acts as a well-needed break. Today Lagerfeld remembers the roots of the house and Coco’s admiration for boats and sailing by bringing in a life-size ship, replica of one she used to love: La Pausa.
