DISCOVER THE LATEST LOUIS VUITTON COLLECTION
By Crash redaction
It was in the Louvre museum that the Louis Vuitton show took place, a legendary french art institution welcoming a legendary french fashion house, quite fitting indeed.
It was no coincidence that the show was held at a crossroads of ancient and new, a place where the past and present meet in a wonderful collision of cultures. That’s exactly what Ghesquière wanted to capture in his latest collection, the alliance between wardrobes from a distant past and an up-to-date aesthetic. Brocade jackets are mixed with silk mini-shorts and sneakers, Blazers are adorned with intricate tapestry and gold sequins are paired with white skinny jeans or silver lamé pants. The designer cites french aristocratic costumes from the 18th century as his main inspiration and questions the sustainability of style.
