DRIES VAN NOTEN MENSWEAR SPRING-SUMMER 2016 PARIS
By Crash redaction
This season, Marilyn Monroe was the icon of Dries Van Noten’s fashion show, her face was omnipresent. As a masterpiece, this collection looks like a Salvador Dali painting, major inspiration there. With a note of craziness, prints are successfully mixed together, hairnet tops reveal the chest, and jungle patterns take us to an exotic journey. Circled glasses allow a retro-touch to the silhouettes, in perfect cohesion with the mythic figures inspirations of the House. Emphasis is given on silkscreen printing, fluid silk shirts and long kimonos. With its usual talent and imagination, the designer created an amazing finale by launching a rain of confetti. Never a fashion show presented so much art and magic.
