GAUCHERE SPRING SUMMER 2016 : BETWEEN FEMININITY AND MASCULINITY

Gauchère Spring Summer 2016 collection was all about contradictions and opposites, making a subtle statement that fashion is not wrong or right, that fashion is borderless. In deed, this season, creative director Marie-Christine Statz decided to play with irreconcilable differences, creating an ambivalent collection where at the end everything comes together with lightness. Masculine influence, as seen in structured, tailored pieces with clean cuts such as coats and pants, meets more soft and fluid elements with organic shapes and round volumes in skirts and dresses making the collection very feminine at the same time. This collection was not about symmetry or harmony, it was about mixing couture and sportswear, adding pleating, opening up layers to reveal pure form of design, and using different contrasted fabrics from silk and crepe to wool and tweed. This collection is an abstract of what makes Gauchère always so special.
