BACKSTAGE AT HERMES MENSWEAR FALL WINTER 2017/18 COLLECTION PARIS

By Crash redaction

WITH NOBLE FABRICS, HERMES UNVEILED A CLASSIC COLLECTION WITH A TOUCH OF 90S SPORTSWEAR

The score played by Hermès for their Fall 2017 collection at the Salle Pleyel was as classic as the collection: basic and wearable pieces using noble fabrics, all with a touch of 90s sportswear. Suede bombers, printed knit sweaters and roll necks: all timeless pieces. Still, each of these pieces left a beautiful sense of inventiveness, giving « carte blanche » to the carrier. Unlike some fashion shows with a defined theme, these pieces can be appropriated easily, at leisure, without referring to any specific theme. Everyone has something to invent: classical, of course, but free as well.

Hermès’ attention to detail has always come across both in the choice of fabrics and in the composition of garments: a patchwork printed on a wool sweater, a combination of Bordeaux and blue, or leather bottom sleeves on a gray trench coat. The score played by Hermès was unlike any other, as the spirit of 90s sportswear was certainly present. Nevertheless, the brand remained faithful to its classic and minimalist spirit while evoking a moment of revolution. A revolution in classicism, such was the beautiful symphony played by Véronique Nichanian.
