KENZO SPRING-SUMMER 2017 : A BACKSTAGE STORY

The Kenzo Spring-Summer 2017 show, presented in Paris’ Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, was a strong tribute to the Eighties, a decade full of sparkles, pop colors and dazzling patterns. This season, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, creative directors of Kenzo, celebrate the disco woman: feminine, fun and a bit audacious, she loves to vogue between glitter dresses, vinyle pants, colorful pieces and camouflage shirts. Whichever, as long as she can feel strong and different. This woman is not an ersatz of the girls of Studio 54, where Kenzo Takada presented his collection in 1977 but quite the opposite. She represents a whole new group of women who get their inspirations from the past decades but are definitely in tune with 2016. Party girl in a sequins dress, daily look with a camo shirt in a white skirt and a bit street with a cropped sweatshirt plus red vinyle pants. This season, the Kenzo girl likes her make up bold: on her pale skin, her eyes and cheeks pop with a thick shade of red. She is audacious and plays with past and present, creating her own future.
