LOUIS VUITTON MEN S/S 2019: A VISION BY FRANK PERRIN

By Crash redaction

Yesterday, amidst all the shows of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the most talked about event was surely Virgile Abloh’s first show at Louis Vuitton since he’s been announced creative director. An immense stepping stone for the young designer whose quick rise to fame with his personal label Off White seems unprecedented. Now at the head of one of Paris’s biggest luxury label, Abloh is set to conquer the fashion world.

But what exactly did we see at the show? Starting out with white monochrome looks gliding down the impressive rainbow runway, the collection evolved into something of a mix between sportswear and luxury, a fresh take on Louis Vuitton’s heritage. Centering his collection around color, Abloh delivered an amazing palette of vibrant hues. He also brought the high-fashion house down to Earth by choosing a cast of multi-ethnic models and inviting a number of design students to see the show. The show ended on an emotional note with Virgil Abloh crying of joy in the arms of his longtime friend Kanye West.
