MAX MARA PRESENTS ‘LAVAPRISMS’

By Crash redaction

The Salone del Mobile is on its way, taking place from April 17th through 22nd in Milan and Max Mara has just announced a collaboration with the design fair in the form of a pair of sunglasses. The Lavaprisms sunglasses have been created in partnership with Safilo and are a result of a collaboration with the German artist Kerstin Brätsch and the UNITED BROTHERS collective founded by the Japanese artists Ei and Tomoo Arakawa.

The inspiration stemmed from the powerful beauty of volcanos, from the Hawaiian islands to the landscapes of Campi Flegrei. The eyewear was designed to look like a piece of the natural landscape, combining geological forms with futuristic sophistication. Geometry meets nature in a unique oversized mirrored lens with stone-like stems. Reminiscent of 90s streetwear or even 80s ski shades, the piece covers a generous part of the upper face for statement eyewear that’s guaranteed to elevate a simple look.

The pair has been made in limited edition with only 1,000 pieces that will be sold in Max Mara boutiques, online and in selected opticians worldwide starting on April 19th.
