THOM BROWNE MEN’S SPRING-SUMMER 2017 PARIS

ON THE RUNWAY AT THOM BROWNE MEN’S SS17
We can’t say it enough: Thom Browne is the absolute master when it comes to staging a show. The American designer proved it once again last week with his spring-summer 2017 show that closed the menswear season in Paris. Taking the wetsuit as a staring point, Browne recreated a timeless beach on which his group of men (or should we say mimes) gathered, first wearing the same boxy grey suit, which they gradually took off to unveil colorful tailored scuba-inspired short suits. Models dressed as a shark and parrots were circling the stage mimicking the animals’ movements, which added an unexpected layer of humor and fun. Finally, the models undressed again to reveal one-piece, vintage-looking bathing suits, before walking off the stage to grab their Thom Browne branded surf boards. For the audience, it was for sure the best way to put an end to this menswear season.
