As Hannah John-Kamen steps up for her latest role as Jill Valentine in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, we take a look back at our Q&A with the British actress.

We selected nine of England’s rising stars and prepared a questionnaire to learn more about these young actors. From BBC and Netflix to major Hollywood productions, they are everywhere and represent the shape of things to come in the film world. Hannah John-Kamen, heroine of the series Killjoys, is our first actress. Discover a bit more about her!

What are you working on right now?

I am currently working on a new Netflix show called The Stranger and a couple of movies on the way.

What is your fondest memory on set?

My fondest memory on set is when I filmed Ready Player One and I had the privilege of singing show tunes with Steven Spielberg. Kind of surreal when I look back at that.

What is your favorite way to spend a day off?

When I spend a lot of time filming, the best way I spend my days off is doing regular house chores and listening to podcasts.

If you were an album which one would you be?

If I were an album, I’d be a Jimmy Hendrix Experience record on vinyl, but change Jimmy to John-Kamen for super chill vibes.

Who is your favorite artist and why?

If I could be any artist, I would be Degas. There is something truthful in his art. He captures something real and makes these everlasting moments with his work, which is something I feel I do with my art.

What is your dream destination for a holiday?

Galapagos islands…so remote.

What is something people would be surprised to know you do?

I cry a lot at movies.

If you could change something in the world, what would it be?

Everybody could fly everywhere so we don’t have to rely on cars, trains or planes.
