BACKSTAGE AT GUNTHER SS 23

By Crash redaction

For the Spring-Summer 2023 season, Naomi Gunther presents a collection inspired by vintage country club sports. In this collection, we find pieces inspired by vintage sports, with several nods to the world of golf, but also terrycloth sets that suggest a game of tennis. Casual pieces in cotton, linen and organic cotton fabrics meet more elegant ensembles in organza, alpaca and silk.
The house’s signature motifs, such as houndstooth, can be found in three-piece suits or in more modern reversible jackets. Gunther also presented a new collaboration with the brand Apnée, an eco-responsible brand of swimwear made from plastic bottles collected in the Mediterranean Sea and on the beaches. Hand-knitted and hand-crocheted pieces as well as a collection of accessories, hats and jewelry complete the sporty chic collection. Jewelry appears taken from the women’s wardrobe, from the necklace to the pearl necklace, the codes of women’s jewelry and evening wear are mixed with his own dressing room. Ties become sparkling, bow ties are made of metal, and fabrics become necklaces. Stones such as agate and cultured pearls are mixed with steel and rhinestones.
