SCOTCH & SODA SS17: A BACKSTAGE STORY

Amsterdam-based label Scotch & Soda presented their spring-summer 2017 collection during New York Fashion Week for the second time on September 11. Titled « The World According to Heavenly Creatures, » the collection tells the story of surreal animals from mother nature. Inspired by 16th century astrologer and cartographer Peter Plancius, Scotch & Soda creative director Marlou van Engelen explores a world seen through the eyes of nature’s creatures. The collection features various tones, finding their essence in different landscapes from the rainforest to the desert. In this multi-layered collection bearing so many interesting, colorful motifs, the creature-eye-motif appliqué stands out as the token of a symbolist approach. Along with the collection’s presentation, Scotch & Soda revealed their first-ever global brand campaign, « From Amsterdam, From Everywhere »: an exploratory feeling that perfectly suits the label that has now taken New York by storm.
