CHANEL CELEBRATES GODARD AT THE CINEMATHEQUE FRANÇAISE

By Crash

To celebrate the sixty years of Godard’s A bout de souffle, Chanel is collaborating with the Cinémathèque Française to present a retrospective on the filmmaker’s work. All of his films have become iconic and represent a certain idea of the Nouvelle Vague as well as a striking modernity. Since the 60s, Godard has crafted more than two hundred films and shed light on many muses like Brigitte Bardot or Anna Karina, who sadly passed away on December 15th. She should have been present at this retrospective with the French filmmaker and this event will be the occasion to celebrate one more time, her mesmerizing presence and talent. The one whose name was given by Coco Chanel herself has marked cinema with her stunning gaze and aura and her long-lasting collaboration with Jean-Luc Godard transcends time. From his most popular releases to more niche movies, you’ll be able to discover and rediscover his incredible body of work.

« Tout Godard » at the Cinémathèque Française, from January 8th through March 1st 2020
