CRACK CLOUD SERVE UP AN ANXIOUS REBELLION IN NEW MUSIC VIDEO « OUSTER STEW »

By Alice Butterlin

The Canadian music collective Crack Cloud has just announced a new album to be released this summer with a striking music video for the track « Ouster Stew ». In a post-apocalyptic setting of desolate fields, busted trailer parks, muddy prisoners and armadas of angry punk rockers dressed in rags, the wild bunch cook up an anxious anthem for rebellion, crystalizing the current angst and disillusionment facing an ever-rotting society. Between the kooky genius of The The and the art-infused rock of Talking Heads, Crack Cloud brings back a certain breed of fearless guitar music which is equal parts nostalgic and futuristic. Riffs are razor sharp, intense, conveying a certain feeling of unease. It is that very sentiment that the collective aim to bring at the forefront of their project, shedding light on personal issues like addiction.
