FRANK PERRIN, L’EMPIRE DES SIGNES IN THREE BIENNALS

How can we define the subliminal economy of signs in our modern society?

L’Empire des Signes is the new unavoidable art exhibition you can’t miss. Frank Perrin clearly refers to the book of Roland Barthes, published in 1970. As a matter of fact, the artist defines this exhibition as the result of many walks through the night in Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Athens… Succession of huge cities, ruled by aggressive neon lights. In fact, those simple words on electrical paintings symbolize an amazing urban modernity, and make the world much more lyrical than it is. But soon, all this poetry will completely disappear in favor of LED, colder signs. Frank Perrin defines this artistic journey as a true dictionary of supply and demand, that rules our daily lives in the actual consumer society. Indeed, we eat, we drink, we buy… As an ode to the street trends and messages, L’Empire des Signes is a mystical art exhibition, composition of urban secrets and lights.
