JACK PIERSON’S THIRD INSTALLMENT OF BOOK SERIES TOMORROW’S MAN

Tomorrow’s Man is a collaborative publishing project initiated by American artist Jack Pierson with the support of Roger Bywater. Pierson, best known for his approach to different mediums including photography, installations, video and drawing, has been enlarging his horizons for a while now with this book series which name refers to an infamous bodybuilding magazine from the 1950s and which retro, masculine aesthetic it is inspired from. Originating from an inspired collaboration with a handful of artist from different backgrounds, the two previous volumes were characterized by the layering of contrasting and complementary imagery such as male nude photography, vintage advertisements, as well as words incorporated into a dense collage. Jack Pierson’s Tomorrow’s Man 3 concentrates on four different artists: merged into each other, Pierson’s nude studies meet the symmetry of Richard Tinkler’s geometrical, almost psychedelic forms. Peter Fend delivers powerful written phrases, which environmental message resonates with the omnipresent natural theme in Pierson’s work. Finally, « The Flavor of Your Wish », a short story by Veralyn Behenna, translates the interpretation of masculine beauty through the eye of a woman.

Jack Pierson Tomorrow’s Man 3 is available in a selection of stores and galleries including Colette in Paris, the Gagosian Shop in New York, and the Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in Paris/Salzbourg.
