LE19M IN DAKAR

By Crash redaction

Creating, exhibiting, transmitting: le19M plays a triple role. Working to preserve and transmit the art of fashion and decoration, the space is located between the 19th arrondissement of Paris and the Porte d’Aubervilliers. A veritable temple dedicated to artisanal savoir-faire, le19M brings together under one roof eleven art houses, an embroidery school, the Maison ERES and the Galerie du 19M, a multidisciplinary space open to the general public since January 2022.

Following the launch of the Chanel Métiers d’art 2022/23 collection on December 6, 2022 in Dakar, Senegal, le19M is taking a new step by inaugurating its first international program. If Dakar is influential on the world cultural and creative scene, the whole of Senegal is a land of savoir-faire to which le19M is particularly sensitive. Thus, from January 12 to March 31, le19M is setting up a gallery outside the walls in Dakar

with the help of the Institut fondamental d’Afrique noire (IFAN) on the site of the Musée Théodore Monod d’Art Africain.
