LOUIS VUITTON S/S 2021

By Crash

Nicolas Ghesquière closed this very strange Paris Fashion Week with the Spring/Summer 2021 Louis Vuitton show, taking place at the Samaritaine, the iconic department store of the French capital. To allow people all over the world to experience the show, even if they weren’t physically present, the house put together 360 degrees cameras for larger than life moment where the virtual blends with reality.

The collection revolved around duality and the birth of a new kind of silhouette, blending gender norms and opening a conversation on clothing as a means of expression and sometimes an armor. The looks were urban and strong with big shoulders and oversized straight pants. The first sweater bared the phrase « Vote », a radical call for Ghesquière’s fellow Americans. Large trench coats were worn over graphic tees and belted pants while oversized blazers and leather pants gave the models a badass look.
