PRADA F/W 2020: THE POWER OF FEMININITY

By Crash

Prada presented its « Surreal Glamour » F/W 2020 collection yesterday at Milan Fashion Week. The looks exuded a feeling of uniform with cinched maxi blazers with 80s power shoulder pads, skirts with cut out fabric that swayed when the models strutted down the runway, preppy wool cardigans and even smart ties. Coats were smart in shades of dark grey, with sharp cuts, over very sheer blouses with a frilled neck. Lingerie and businesswear are juxtaposed for an unexpected effect. Prada further explores the duality of women, who are both seductive and powerful, strong individuals who can play with the notion of the cliché feminine body. The hourglass is there with cinched waists on padded nylon jackets but there’s also some A-line shapes with sleeveless sweaters with geeky prints worn with long skirts.
