THE 26 FASHION DESIGNERS SELECTED FOR THE LVMH PRIZE HAVE BEEN REVEALED

By Crash redaction

With about 1000 applicants throughout the world, the LVHM Prize has been, for the second year, a huge success. The LVMH Prize is dedicated to young fashion designers under the age of 40 who have had already two or more collections commercialized. The laureate wins a 300.000€ grant and assistance for the development of his enterprise during one year. Under the supervision of Deplhine Arnault, the committee has chosen the 26 best designers to be part of the aventure.

Coming from diverse countries and backgrounds, from womenswear to menswear or even unisex design, the 26 selected designers are the greatest representation of today’s young creation. This year, you may recognize those names among the lucky chosen ones: Demna Gvasali, Andrea Jiapei Li, or Faustine Steinmetz. For the second year, Craig Green, Marques Almeida, and Jacquemus are part of this selection.

The designers will show their work to 45 experts in Paris from March 4th to 5th this year. These experts will then choose six finalists who will show their work to the prestigious final jury counting some of today’s greatest designers and fashion experts, working within the LVMH group, such as Jonathan Anderson, Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Phoebe Philo, Raf Simons, Riccardo Tisci, joined by Delphine Arnault, Jean-Paul Claverie and Pierre-Yves Roussel.

Last year, the Prize went to Thomas Tait, while Hood by Air and Miuniku received a special prize with a 100.000 € grant.

The winner of the LVMH Prize will be revealed on May 5th 2015.
