TOMMY HILFIGER – TRUE BLUE COLLECTION

By Crash redaction

When someone mentions American denim, it’s hard not to imagine the red white and blue of the Tommy Hilfiger logo stitched neatly on the back pocket. Having launched his name sake brand in 1985, it’s no wonder why Tommy Hilfiger has etched himself, and his American prep twists on wardrobe classics into the fabric of the fashion industry. Tommy Hilfiger’s launch of the ‘True Blue’ collection is an homage to both the history of his global brand, and the history of denim as a fashion fabric in America. The collection highlights selections from Tommy’s very own denim, chambray and indigo archive and is brought to new life through the collaboration with five international designers.
Designers Paul Venaille, Debra Folz , Benjamin Tortiger, Jonah Takagi, Jonathan Glatt and Sara Ossana present unique artistic approaches to the ‘True Blue’ collection. With backgrounds ranging from woodworking and furniture making, jewelry and metalsmithing, to interior architecture, this talented group of artists are the top of their respective fields and provide new perspectives on each of the classic Tommy pieces.
The line provides wardrobe staple pieces for both men and women, featuring timeless favorites such as the denim vest,  boot-cut jeans, All-American shorts, flares and dungarees, to the all time classic denim jacket. Tommy Hilfiger may be looking back to the past, but that nostalgia has only enhanced their fresh and modern looking future.
