ECKHAUS LATTA SS17: A BACKSTAGE STORY
This week, young designers Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta presented their Spring-Summer 2017 collection in New York. The duo has gained large influence over the past season for their unique take on making clothes, i.e their deconstructed aesthetic as well as their ability to create fashion that not only appeal to the average thin model. Their aficionados are real people, and the designers have always managed to maintaining that vision, which eventually made their success. For spring-summer, the deconstructed aesthetic applies to softer silhouettes that wrap the body with enveloping textures. Under the creative direction of Michael Forrey, Sassoon Salon creates individual hair styles meant to bring out the little imperfections of each and everyone of the models, and find beauty in its most natural state that takes cues from the grunge movement. “She just woke up for the show and simply wants to start her day,” Forrey eplains about her envisioned girl. A perfect fit for Eckhaus Latta.
