BOTTEGA VENETA AND GAETANO PESCE PRESENT ‘VIENI A VEDERE’ AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK

By Martina Conte

Bottega Veneta and Gaetano Pesce present « VIENI A VEDERE » a unique installation that can be visited for one week from April 15 to 22 during Milan Design Week.

After Pesce was commissioned to create a temporary site-specific work as an exhibition space for Bottega Veneta’s summer ’23 fashion show, the dialogue continues and another dimension is explored.
In the Montenapoleone store, Pesce creates a unique installation called « Vieni a Vedere. » The immersive installation, which spans the entire store, uses resin and fabric to create a unique experience that the visitor walks through. It frames an edition of bags made by Bottega Veneta for the artist according to her designs. The space is presented as a cave. At the entrance, after a brief explanation of the project on the wall, the viewer is invited to walk along this white path with shades of red, green and yellow, colors that are found in the two exclusive bags created for the occasion.
What one crosses is the silhouette of a figure shooting a basket. Gaetano Pesce with this figure wants to indicate the victory of the discovery of the language of representation.

Gaetano Pesce, architect-designer-humanist artist is a leading figure in each of his fields; he is a multidisciplinary artist who has never limited himself to one artistic expression and this is the reason why he has created disparate public and private works all over the world and in the different fields of architecture, urban planning, interior design, industrial design and exhibition design.

The installation can be visited for one week, from April 15 to 22, where the artist’s handcrafted bags can be purchased. The bags, made by Bottega Veneta leatherworkers and artisans, feature the characteristic Intrecciato used once again, but in a completely new way according to Pesce’s sketches.
The two leather goods accessories are directly inspired by the artist’s own childhood and places of the heart: the prairies and mountains of Este and America.

April 15 to 22
