CANNES : REPORT FILM BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR BY ABDELLATIF KECHICHE

By Crash redaction

Provocative and deep movie Blue Is the Warmest Colour directed by Abdellatif Kechiche deals with confusion and conflicting emotions of love. Based on the 2010 French graphic novel of the same name by Julie Maroh.

This movie follows Adele Exarchopoulos’s teenage character, through a few years of misleading feelings. Adele dreams of finding the love of her life. One day she meets Emma, there is an instant unexplainable connexion.  In front of others, Adele grows, seeks herself, loses herself and ultimately finds herself through love and loss.

Acting have been mainly emphasized by Lea Seydoux, Adele Exarchopoulos, Alma Jodowroski, Jeremie Laheurte and Sandor Funtek.

Blue Is the Warmest Colour gives full recognition to the key role of physical desire in relationships, and to their at times insurmountable complexity, refusing happy-ever-after platitudes.
