CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE SPRING / SUMMER 2022

By Crash redaction

Leading up to the Spring-Summer 2022 Chanel Haute Couture show, at the invitation of Virginie Viard, French contemporary artist Xavier Veilhan has made a series of short films featuring the Chanel ambassador Charlotte Casiraghi.  These first images of the collection show Charlotte Casiraghi, herself an accomplished horsewoman, wearing a black tweed jacket with jeweled buttons from the Chanel Spring/ Summer 2022 Haute Couture collection. The video previews the constructivism that influenced the collection.

The geometric shapes of the decor inspired Virginie Viard to create contrast, lightness, and freshness throughout the collection. Floating ethereal dresses, flounces, fringes, macramé, bright lace, iridescent tweeds, and colorful jewelled buttons. A pink tweed jacket with white stripes, straps composed of white braid embroidered with beads or silver chains, two-tone Mary-Janes, and finely geometric embroidery, show femininity while echoing the decor. All of Chanel’s embroidery partners collaborated on the collection, most notably on display on the dress entirely embroidered by Lesage with constructivist camellias in black, white and coral beads and worn with a little black jacket.

The film is also available to watch at Chanel.com.
