DIOR PRESENTS NEW CANNAGE SUNGLASSES: A TIMELESS ICON REIMAGINED

By Aicha NDIAYE

Dior has recently introduced its latest Dior Cannage sunglasses. These eyewear stand as a homage to the rich heritage and iconic codes that define the House of Dior.

The story of the Cannage pattern traces back to the very origins of Dior in 1947. It was during this pivotal year that the graphic pattern of Cannage first adorned the Napoleon III chairs in Christian Dior’s haute couture salons at 30 Montaigne. This pattern, with its harmonious mesh, captured the imagination of the couturier himself, becoming an essential emblem of Dior’s heritage.

Over the years, the Cannage motif has evolved into a symbol of elegance and sophistication, punctuating Dior’s diverse universes with each new collection. This iconic emblem has now become an integral part of Dior’s couture legacy. It has been mainly present in recent seasons, especially in the men’s and women’s collections.

In the latest version, the refined lines of the Cannage pattern are engraved on the arms of the Dior Cannage sunglasses. These lines intertwine seamlessly with the initials « CD, » a signature that pays tribute to Monsieur Dior’s enduring legacy. Available in a range of shapes, whether the classic rectangular or the timeless pilot style, these sunglasses are a promise of timeless elegance and refinement.

The new collection of Dior Cannage sunglasses also offers a variety of lens options, including some with tinted lenses. This versatility allows wearers to express their style while enjoying the perfect craftsmanship and design of the French luxury House.

As the Cannage pattern continues to weave its way through Dior’s collections, it remains a testament to the enduring legacy of the House, where tradition meets innovation in perfect harmony.

The new Dior Cannage sunglasses will be unveiled in Dior boutiques starting April 25th, 2024.
