DISCOVER THE COLLABORATIVE COLLECTION OF NEITH NYER ARTISANAL

By Crash

Brazilian designer Neith Nyer has been taking the time to reflect and think about ways to reinvent himself and his brand at a moment when it is crucial to rethink the fashion industry’s way of functioning. With the Neith Nyer Artisanal project, it’s all about going back to what really matters, away from an idealistic and sometimes cliché vision of luxury, where real human connections and our planet are taken into account. This new beginning is also a way for the designer to voice his political and social views and get involved with causes dear to his heart. His message, posted on his Instagram account in late June, says it all:

For the first collection of the Neith Nyer Artisanal project, the designer has decided to collaborate with a bunch of creative minds who share his passion for unlimited creativity. Called « Globe of Death », the collection was supposed to serve as a simple capsule for the Paris Ass Book Fair but because of the virus and everything that went down, the designer had to make other plans. With a little help from Alphonse Maitrepierre, Palomo Spain, Tetier Bijoux, D’Heygere, Charles de Vilmorin and many more, « Globe of Death » is truly the type of initiative we want to see in fashion right now. Upcycled, recycled, cut, pasted, washed and assembled with care, the pieces ressemble the way Nyer has been dressing for years, a true reflection of a designer at the crossroads of multiple cultures and spaces. To top it off, all the proceeds of this collection will be donated to Casa Chama, a Brazilian organization who supports the black trans community.
