ENFANTS RICHES DÉPRIMÉS FALL-WINTER 2024 COLLECTION

By Aicha NDIAYE

Enfant Riches Déprimés by Henri Alexander-Levy, unveils its Fall-Winter 24 Collection this Sunday, in a backdrop of an abandoned Parisian parking garage within the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

The runway show unveils a striking narrative interweaving baroque elegance with punk nostalgia. Models traverse the levels, amidst vintage luxury automobiles, where some of them were riding a motorcycle.

The Californian label offers a rich and complex collection in terms of manufacturing and detail. Opulent materials such as Italian wool, cashmere, sable, shearling, and velvet blend seamlessly with ruffian elements, resulting in a fusion of luxury and rebellion.

Handcrafted knits from Loro Piana and intricate finishes, including hand-strung pearls and antique tapestries, evoke a sense of decadent glamour reminiscent of a bygone era.

Accessories play a pivotal role in accentuating the collection’s narrative, with cowboy boots, a hallmark of the label, alongside platforms and kitten heels for women. Gold and silver jewelry add a final flourish to the ensemble, embodying the label’s ethos of uncompromising craftsmanship and irreverence.

Enfants Riches Déprimés transcends the confines of traditional fashion, offering a provocative exploration of cultural stagnation and the allure of rebellious expression. With each collection, the label challenges conventions, inviting its audience to question the boundaries of art and fashion in an evolving world.
