By Crash

Rihanna’s Fenty has just launched a bunch of Summer playlists in collaboration with Apple Music, curated by artists and friends of the house. They will each be available over the course of of the Summer, from June through August, starting off with Compton born guitarist, singer-songwriter and record producer Steve Lacy who crafted an eclectic mix of disco, rock, Latin and hip hop. Also on the launch lineup is Dutch Moroccan/Egyptian model and Global Ambassador for She’s the First charity – which fights gender inequality through education – Imaan Hammam with a playlist “designed to connect with and uplift people”. She will mix old and new Afrobeat, hip-hop and dancehall, ranging from Super Mama Djombo to Kaytranada.

Fenty’s Deputy Creative Director Jahleel Weaver is offering a feel-good mix which will take you from 60s and 70s RnB/ Soul with legends like Betty Wright and Stevie Wonder, to summer 2020 hits from relative newcomers Thundercat and Octavian – who performed live at the first Fenty Social Club last April. Also featured is former Supreme Brand Director and founder of youth-focused New York brand Awake, Angelo Baque, whose mix delves into salsa, funk, 80s club classics and rap.
