FIURUCCI’S BIG COMEBACK IN MILAN FASHION WEEK

By Martina Conte

Fiorucci has announced the official return of the Brand born and developed in Italy. Under the leadership of new CEO Alessandro Pisani and Creative Director Francesca Murri, the brand will be relaunched to a process of innovation right in its beautiful hometown, Milan, also launching a new collection right during Milan Fashion Week this September.

Creative director Francesca Murri is a designer whose experience spans Versace, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Givenchy and Ferragamo.

Elio Fiorucci, the Brand’s founder and primary creative, opened his store in Galleria Passarella in Milan in 1967 with the idea of importing the countercultural commercial innovation of London’s Carnaby Street to his hometown.
Following his Italian success Fiorucci exported his concept to New York in 1976.
Known as the « daytime Studio 54, » Fiorucci housed the offices of Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine, was frequented by up-and-coming young designers such as Keith Haring and Madonna, and became an unprecedented artistic and cultural center.
