KENZO COLLABORATES WITH WWF

By Crash

Kenzo is partnering with WWF to work on a capsule celebrating the signature of the fashion house: the tiger, which is unfortunately threatened with extinction. From about 100,000 individuals a century ago the wild tiger population declined to about 3200 specimens in 2010. Thanks to the efforts undertaken, promising first results have been observed and the number of tigers living in the wild was estimated at 3900 in 2016.

It is Kenzo’s wish to help preserve these unique animals that belong to a key species for the health of ecosystems and, consequently, the well-being of nature and communities in the areas where it lives. For these reasons, Kenzo joins forces with WWF and supports their « TX2 » initiative to work with states, conservation partners and communities to double the population of wild tigers by 2022, the next year of the Tiger in the Chinese horoscope.

Kenzo inaugurates a capsule collection in homage to its emblematic tiger, composed of essentials: sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweat dresses… all made of 100% organic cotton and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. For each piece sold, KENZO will donate ten dollars to the WWF’s « TX2 » program. This partnership will continue until 2022, an ambitious milestone set by TX2 to double the wild tiger population from the 2010 baseline.

Through this action, Kenzo is pursuing its philosophy of being inspired by nature and protecting it.
