LOUIS VUITTON FW24 : 10 YEARS OF NICOLAS GHESQUIERE

By Iris Jeanson

Celebrating ten years with Louis Vuitton, creative director Nicolas Ghesquière reflects on his journey, merging memories with imagination for the Fall-Winter 2024-2025 collection. The runway at the Louvre’s Cour Carrée, where Ghesquière debuted in 2014, sets the stage for a showcase blending familiarity with renewed aesthetics.

Ghesquière emphasizes the importance of charting the right course, following one’s own North Star. This recurring theme becomes the guiding light, ensuring a constant vocabulary while infusing each piece with timeless elegance.

The collection explores Ghesquière’s own intertextuality, weaving earlier affinities into new horizons. Beloved garments, gestures, and embroideries find a place in this creative odyssey, renewing the familiar and captivating the audience.

The Louvre’s Cour Carrée, a historic venue for Louis Vuitton, serves as the backdrop for this milestone collection. The showcase not only unveils the latest trends but also commemorates the brand’s evolution over the past decade.

Collaborative efforts shine through as artist Philippe Parreno, film production designer James Chinlund, and sound designer Nicolas Becker contribute to the visual and auditory spectacle, elevating the overall sensory experience.

Louis Vuitton’s Women’s Fall-Winter 2024 Show is a celebration of elegance and innovation, blending the familiar with the renewed. Ghesquière invites us to explore the beauty of the past, ensuring that each piece transcends seasons and stands as a testament to the brand’s enduring vision.
