LOUIS VUITTON S/S 2020: A VISION BY FRANK PERRIN

By Crash

The Louis Vuitton S/S 2020 show closed Fashion Week with a bang, setting the tone for the new decade to come. Nicolas Ghesquière is indeed one of the designers who has understood from the very beginning the stakes and challenges of the digital era, embracing new technologies and imagining silhouettes from the future. Even though some of his past works might have been deemed as « futuristic », this Louis Vuitton collection was far from sci-fi and rather dipped into a forgotten era: The Belle Epoque. A time of incredible artistic development, a fusion of exotic inspirations and never-seen-before advances in construction and technology. Touches of Art Nouveau punctuated the looks, while large puffed sleeves and Edwardian hairdos took the runway to another time.
