In a continuation of the stripped-back look Miu Miu has been championing of late, the house has released an effortlessly charming summer collection: Miu Miu L’Été. Inspired by underwear as outerwear, men’s tailoring and sportswear, Miuccia Prada has gone back to basics, with a classic Miu Miu girl twist. Think crochet knits and slips contrasted against her signature bralettes and panties, spanning a neutral and sparkly color palette, she brings a hint of tongue in cheek to even the most serious piece of tailoring. 

It’s a constant tug and pull between the masculine and the feminine at Miu Miu, sky-blue and khaki cotton shirting is loosely harnessed to the body with elasticated waistbands. Proportions are shaken up with micro skirts and shorts, and cropped jackets and shirts lengthening legs and torsos to dizzying heights. 

Desert shades dominate the collection, giving way to safari-style dresses, slashed jackets and skirts, paired with the simplest of cotton tanks, embroidered with the cutesy Miu Miu logo. The Miu Miu L’Été girl is sexy as she is sportive and dressed as she is undressed.
