RODARTE SISTERS DIRECT THEIR FIRST MOVIE

By Crash redaction

Rodarte sisters, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, are making their debuts as filmmakers with their first feature Woodshock. We don’t know much about this project yet, but the movie is starring Rodarte’s muse: Kirsten Dunst. The movie is going to be financed and produced by Ken Kao’s Waypoint Entertainment, spotted in Cannes few days ago. Consequently foreign buyers will have the opportunity to catch it at the Cannes Film Market this week, thanks to the sales company Bloom.

Founders of the label Rodarte in 2005, the two sisters are no strangers to the film business. As a matter of fact, many actresses like Natalie Portman or the Fanning sisters, are already huge admirers of their collections, which they’re faithful to. Besides, Kate and Laura Mulleavy worked as costume designers on the set of Black Swan in 2010. This project is the achievement of Kate and Laura’s long ambition to direct. It’s a perfect timing for such an announcement, since Cannes Film festival is on full swing.
