VALENTINO TEASES ITS HAUTE COUTURE F/W 2020/2021 COLLECTION

By Crash

Before the live performance accompanying the reveal of Valentino’s Haute Couture A/W 2020/2021 collection on April 21st, you can already discover the magnificent teaser. Directed by British fashion photographer Nick Knight, the video takes its main inspiration from dancer Loie Fuller. He explains: Loie Fuller influenced the Art Nouveau movement, which in turn is reflected in the freedom, elegance and grace of this collection by Pierpaolo for Valentino. Pierpaolo and I wanted to create a fashion renaissance, totally free to speak a language based on beauty and fantasy. »

Fusing the digital world with human elements was the starting point for Piccioli who is interested in observing how the two complete each other and merge to become the essence of our modern world. « A Couture creation comes to life only through movement, light, colors and music, but above all through the human being who lies beneath it, wrapped in it, welcomed by its fabric. The one who dances and the one who dreams. Couture is alive, and so is dreaming » he notes. With an eery soundtrack by FKA Twigs, the teaser is a beautiful and abstract view into the future of Haute Couture.
