DIOR BRINGS THE 2024 CRUISE COLLECTION FROM THE RUNWAY TO THE HOME

By Roisin Breen

Dior brings its 2024 Cruise collection from the runway to the home in a series of limited edition crockery, table linen, ornaments and homeware pieces in time for the holiday season. Evocative of the sensuality of Mexico, the collection itself was inspired by Frida Kahlo, the emblematic artist most famous for her self-portraiture and intimate exploration of the body and feminine identity. Infinitely inspirational, her legacy has left its mark across generations and continents. Maria Grazia Chiuri, the head of creation at Dior Femme has been drawn to the artist, her legacy and that of her country throughout her career, eloquently coining it, “the place of the soul”. Mexico is where Chiuri returns to get to the core of her femininity, to tap into the beating heart of what makes her Dior Woman tick. After presenting the collection in the country earlier this year, she turned to Pietro Ruffo to create the Butterfly Around the World Motif, adorned and reimagined on the homeware presented in this collection. The result is a collection of pieces; timeless, elegant, classical but evocative. A vase and a decorative box, designed in collaboration with the Manufacture des émaux de Longwy founded in 1798, complete this selection. Symbols of excellence in craftsmanship, these models – numbered and available in limited editions – can be discovered in a series of Dior boutiques.
