Marco De Vincenzo for this Etro collection goes back to his origins and personal history. While visiting his hometown, Marco De Vincenzo stumbled all of a sudden onto a copy of Cesare Ripa’s Iconology: a seventeenth-century repertoire filled with allegorical images depicting virtues, qualities, and vices.
After this mystical encounter between the Etro designer and this particular relic, the desire to tell something unusual and allegorical was born.

De Vincenzo wanted to make current a way of telling that belongs to the past, wondering if the very act of composing a garment an allegorical action that charges the creation of images with communicative powers?
Etro’s new collection was born from this thought and presents fluid and contrasting clothes; soft silhouettes, full of the Brand’s typical colors, more sporty elements such as soccer tops mix with long cardigans that touch down to the ground, taking the form of coats. 

For Etro, the greatest allegory becomes fashion, which makes us believe in something different every day.
