« LE STUDIO D’ORPHÉE » AT THE FONDAZIONE PRADA

By Crash

Jean-Luc Godard has settled down in the Fondazione Prada for a new permanent project called Le Studio d’Orphée, a workshop, a recording and editing studio, a place for work and life… the perfect reenactment of a day in the life of the French film maker that starts on December 4th. He brought all the technical gear used in his latest films since 2010 as well as furniture, artworks, books and other personal trinkets from his own studio in Switzerland. In this Orpheus studio, the feature film Le Livre d’image, 2018 and nine short films by the director – On s’est tous défilés, 1988; Je vous salue Sarajevo, 1993; Les enfants jouent à la Russie, 1993; The Old Place, 1998; De l’origine du XXIème siècle, 2000; Liberté et Patrie, 2002; Une bonne à tout faire, 2006; Vrai faux passeport, 2006; Une Catastrophe, 2008 – will be broadcast on a video screen usually used by the director as a work tool.

Spectators will have the unprecedented opportunity to attend the screening of Le livre d’image in the physical location where the film was conceived and made, during the editing, mixing and other phases of production and post-production. For the first time it will be possible to be as close as possible to the creative process that is at the origin of a cinematographic work. The elements that make up Le Studio d’Orphée create a spatial and emotional geography in which visitors will be invited to live an experience of true discovery.
