LIBERTINE FALL-WINTER 2016 COLLECTION, NEW YORK

Libertine fall-winter 2016 collection was all about patchwork. The collection is made of colorful and funny decorative patches appearing everywhere in the collection, from long dresses to capes, from bright parkas to tailored trousers. The patches, in every shape and color, are paired with any type of texture: long knitwear cardigans, sheer jackets and silk long dresses. They represents hands, for a surrealist touch that reminds us of Schiaparelli, adorned with red polish nail, cigarettes or feminine eyes with long lashes. The most classic outfits, as a long evening dress or menswear suit, are completely reinterpreted by the funny direction taken this season by the maison creative approach. Menswear is also driven by the same spirit, oversized sweaters are paired with plus fours and high socks with stripes decorated with letters patches. As for the accessories, we find funny sequins tights all along the show, replaced sometimes by laced ones, while for men some colorful hats paired with multicolored parkas. The shoes are also on the same line as the rest of the collection: open-toe sandals with fluffy decoration in the front, they come in all bright colors from red to electric blue and also to rainbow ones.
