LOEWE PRESENTS A COLLECTION FEATURING TOTORO

By Crash

Reflecting on what brings him the most joy and comfort, designer Jonathan Anderson immediately thought of the cult animation movie My Neighbor Totoro, Studio Ghibli’s adorable tale of friendship and adventure released in 1988. With close links to the Japanese animation studio, whether it be through values or the love of craftsmanship, Loewe is releasing a special capsule collection featuring characters from the film. This collaboration with the Studio Ghibli comprises of bags, ready-to-wear pieces and accessories. Poetic and fun, the mini collection brings a bit of joy to an otherwise dour time.

The Loewe x My Neighbor Totoro collection honors iconic characters and the fantastic landscapes they inhabit: they are represented on prints, intarsia jacquard, leather inlays, but also on hand-painted motifs, and even in the form of pompoms. Inspired by a sense of freedom and the outdoors, the cuts of the t-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, pants but also leather jackets are loose and casual. The fluidity of the whole collection reflects a feeling of youth.
