LOUIS VUITTON FALL WINTER 24 MENSWEAR COLLECTION : A WESTERN ODYSSEY

By Aicha NDIAYE

The Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2024 Men’s Collection presented on January 16 in Paris, took us on a visual journey into the heart of the Western American wardrobe.

The clothes illuminated the iconography of the American western dress. The creative director Pharell, collaborated with artists from Dakota and Lakota countries, who played a central role in the formation of the collection, but also in the soundtrack and the staging of the show.

This collection features turquoise-coated buttons, bolo ties, cowboy boots, and vibrantly colored hand and travel bags making a bold statement. Western-style tassels adorned tailored outerwear and streetwear-leaning bomber jackets, reinforcing the exploration of workwear roots. The cow print appeared under pixelated patterns (seen in the Spring Menswear 2024 Collection), adding a touch of contemporary elegance to the Western-inspired pieces.

A distinctive feature of the collection was the collaboration with American bootmaker Timberland. The French Luxury House reinterpreted the iconic Timberland boots in various forms, offering a unique blend of the American Western aesthetic with the Maison’s signature touch. The classic Timberland boot emerged in wheat-colored or black waterproof scrivante nubuck, subtly debossed with Louis Vuitton’s Monogram.

The Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2024 Men’s Collection successfully merged the rich heritage of American Western workwear with the Maison’s commitment to savoir-faire and innovation. The collaborations with artists and Timberland, added depth and authenticity to the collection, making it a true reflection of the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and cultural exploration.
