MARINE SERRE MEN’S SS24 « HEARTBEAT » SHOW BACKSTAGE PICTURES

By SCHOHAJA

MARINE SERRE’s « HEARTBEAT » collection combines seasonal favorites, rare gems, and golds, capturing the essence of love and physical expression. The show features a 15-minute journey through the history of electronic dance music, accompanied by Debussy’s « Clair de Lune. »

The opening act belongs to the magnetic Teyana Taylor, draped in a dress crafted from pleated scarves and upcycled tee shirts, sensually embracing her silhouette. Exemplifying Marine Serre’s ingenious work process.

Upcycled and deadstock materials are used in half of the showcased techniques, fabrics, and silhouettes, while a diverse runway cast includes superstars such as Miguel and Noah Cyrus. The collection embraces crochet, home clothes, hibiscus prints, and upcycled denim, adorned with moons.

Hibiscus prints pay homage to the breathtaking beauty of Hawaii, while upcycled beach towels evoke memories of fiery sunsets. Delicately draped, these reminiscences intertwine in unisex skirts and revealing cut-out dresses, encircling the enchanting Brooke Candy. The original sponge, untouched, emerges as a symbol of regeneration, manifesting itself at the door.

Throughout the show, music plays a vital role, capturing the essence of the collection.

The invitation and set design pay homage to music merchandising and create a Black Box club atmosphere. As the show music producer Pierre Rousseau likes to say: “It’s a process of radicality, regeneration, and hybridization dear to MARINE SERRE, adapted to music.”

True to Marine Serre’s values, the eco-certified fabric used in the venue will be donated to cultural entities after the show.

The show concludes with an afterparty led by JASS, Sevdaliza, and Anetha, celebrating art and individuality because what makes your heart beat, if not people?
