THE SPIRIT OF STAIRS BY A.P.C. AND SACAI

By Martina Conte

A.P.C. and Sacai present the new collection of quilts and pillows designed by Jessica Ogden using offcuts and fabrics from both Brands.

Jean Touitou, founder of A.P.C., expressed himself by saying that only geniuses can create something from scratch, and that humans in nature need preconceptions to access mere creation. In this case, creativity stems from a desire to do something not usually done in fashion: to create a kind of automatic fabric writing.

Jessica Ogden was inspired by the architectural structure of staircases, mixed with quilt and play patterns.
The fabrics used and their expression after being manipulated, deconstructed and reconstructed, express the perfect marriage of A.P.C. and Sacai. The conversation created is palpable and real. The creation of quilts is, in essence, a proposal by A.P.C. inscribed with a desire for sustainability.

The campaign was shot by Alfredo Piola in New York.
