DELVAUX CELEBRATES BELGIUM AT THE BON MARCHÉ

By Crash

For the « Il était une fois la Belgique » event at the Bon Marché Rive Gauche store in Paris, Delvaux is invited to set up a pop-up shop centered around one of Belgium’s symbols: comic books. The house has chosen the famous illustrator Frédéric Seron – aka Clarke – known for comics like Mélusine or more recently Mister President, to add his special touch to iconic Delvaux bags as well as the set of the pop-up. Specially for the event, Clarke created drawings retracing key episodes in Delvaux’s history with a touch of typically Belgian humor, including the filing of the first patent, the creation of Le Brillant bag and the rise of the house’s international reputation. To top it off, limited editions of the Brillant MM and the Mini customized by the artist are available to buy at the Bon Marché Rive Gauche. Clients will even get to personalize multiple leather bags with the design of their choice.

Every year the Bon Marché Rive Gauche focuses on a specific country, putting the spotlight on new traditions, foreign cultures, to create interesting dialogues and unprecedented creations. This year, Belgium is at the centre of the conversation and you’ll be able to delve into its culinary traditions, local designers and general cultural through October 18th. If you stop by « Il était une fois la Belgique », don’t forget to check out the Delvaux pop-up corner.
